“Carmen was everything we expected and wanted in a caregiver. I only wish I had called sooner to get Mom the help she needed.”

We all want to remain as independent as possible, but that is harder to do when everyday activities become a challenge. Specially trained Pathways Private Duty aides are a great practical solution. They provide:

  • Non-medical care tailored to individual needs
  • Assistance with personal care such as bathing and dressing.
  • Medication reminders
  • Practical services, such as running errands, doing laundry and preparing meals

Private Duty care is available up to 24 hours a day, on a temporary or long-term basis, in private homes or in assisted living.

What to Expect From Private Duty Care

Pathways Private Duty is a non-medical service (sometimes generically called homecare) that helps seniors, the chronically ill, and people recovering from an illness, surgery or an injury—anyone who could use extra help with everyday activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and walking. Incontinence care is available for clients who need it.

Some clients need only a few hours a week while others require care 24 hours a day. Some need short-term help while they recover, while others need ongoing care. Many seniors retain our Private Duty Services and simply add weekly hours as needed. Below are some of the things our Private Duty caregivers can do to keep clients safe and healthy:

  • Give medication reminders
  • Drive to medical and other appointments
  • Shop for groceries
  • Prepare simple meals
  • Do laundry
  • Serve as a liaison with family members
  • Assist with exercise
  • Reduce the likelihood of falls
  • Alert family members when low on medications
  • Provide companionship
  • Encourage or help with eating, bathing, walking

Because Private Duty Care is non-medical, it is usually not covered by insurance. Some long term care insurance may cover Private Duty care.

Award-Winning Care

Pathways Private Duty is the proud recipient of the 2015 Best of HomeCare Provider of Choice Award, based on client satisfaction scores and given to only the top ranking home care providers.
